Udupi; Sept 07: Under the presidentship of Pramodh Madhwaraj, MLA, a meeting has been conveyed recently to discuss about the steps to be taken to repair and fill the ponds, ditches on the main roads, city and rural roads falls under the Vidhana Sabha constituency of Udupi, which has been damaged due to this year’s heavy and intense rain.
It was discussed that as a result of this year’s torrential and heavy rains, main roads including city and rural roads have been damaged and ditches and ponds have been formed. As the rain is still continuing, filling work of ponds and ditches not advisable at present as the condition of the roads will get dampened due to moisture content in the atmosphere.
Therefore it has been decided to start the work of filling ponds and ditches in the second week of October 2013.
