Karkala; Sept 06: After inaugurating the ‘foundation stone laying ceremony ‘of Akshara Dasoha building and students cultural stage, organized by Muniyal government pre-degree college at the cost of around Rs 56 lac, V Sunil Kumar, MLA said in his speech that youths are our nations strength and human resources is playing an important role in the overall progress of the country. Corruption has become a deadliest disease, which will have an adverse impact on nation’s economy. Building strong and prosperous India is the responsibility of the students, he said.

He also said that if students engage themselves in extracurricular activities along with academic education through cultural sanghas, it will not only help them to bring out the hidden talents but also help to improve dynamism and leadership quality, he added

Mutlupady Satish Shetty, President college welfare samiti said in his chief guest speech that government is spending lot on higher  education, under the circumstance students must evince an extra interest in their studies and should bring laurels to the school and an appeal has also been made to government through MLA, urging the government to sanction a first grade college within five years to Muniyal.

Smt Baby Shetty, principal of the college has been presided over the function and said in her speech that students through their honesty, challenge, efforts, devotion, dedication, can reach their set goal, she added.

On the occasion, on behalf of college management committee, Kaduhole Narasimha Nayak, has been felicitated in recognition of his 16 years of service as lecturer. Besides winning teams of both boys and girls in taluk level Kabaddi, have also been awarded on the occasion. Also scholarships for the talented students have also been distributed by MLA Sunil Kumar.

Kotrappa welcomed the guests, Shashidhar Acharya proposed a vote of thanks and S V Bhat, asst.professor compered the programme.
