Flood & drought; instead of showing concern on farmers, C.M plans China visit – fumes H.D K

Mangalore, September 3: Recently people are suffered from excess drought and after knowing such problem CM has maintained silence. Moreover, though there are many problems, the chief minister planning to visit  China, which is shameless decision, said former C.M H.D Kumaraswamy.


Addressing the media person here Tuesday, he said that the government posted its advertisement about 100 days of administration. In Dakshina Kannada 220 crore rupees of valuable areca nuts are damaged and 220.73 lakh in Mangalore, 220.20 lakh in Shivamoga, 57 crore in Udupi, 324 crore in Chikamagalur, 5.77 lakhs of garden damaged in Karawar. The chief minister has not visited these places and instead of to attract the capitalists, he is moving to China, he satirize the government.


He further said that minister Vinay Kumar Sorake assured to request the government to grant 25 crore rupees as solution to the problem, but total lose is 3,231 crore rupee. Hence, how much offering solution can cover the loss of people? He asked.


Due to areca nut problem 2, 20,000 crore acres of crops damaged and 1, 67,420 farmers families are beneficiaries’ of crop damage. According the MCRF guideline, 76 crore must be released, but did not. Government must response to areca nut growers, he warned the government.


‘When I was chief minister of the state, we have collected nearly 2.60 crores in the 28 month and even BJP government also collected so much amount of money. Hence, must give the chance to treasurer to check the saved amount. So far nobody has raised the voice about that money and nobody knows weather that money is exists or not, he said.

Former minister Amaranatha Shetty, M. B Sadashiva, leaders Sushil Noronha, G. Vijaya, MCC member Rameeza Nasir and JD(S) workers were present.
