Kundapur: Health Problems lead man to end life on railway track

Kundapur; Sept 03: A man identified as Manjunath alias Mohammad aged 23, son of Babu and resident of Thekkatte has committed suicide on the railway track at Hattiyangadi cross on Sept 02, Monday, reportedly due to ill -health.

As per the sources, Manjunatha had got married to Ayesh, Muslim girl, aged 20, daughter of Nawab Jan, resident of Damujali, Bhatkal.Their marriage was a love marriage.

After marriage, he changed his name to Mohammed and worked in a garment store at Kundapur. Ayesha had earlier worked in a mobile phone shop, and then in a jewellery store. She recently left her job. The couple stayed in a rented house at Balekere in Kenchanur.

In a death note found in Manjunath’s trousers, he stated that he himself was responsible for taking the extreme step.

Manjunath was suffering from heart ailment and used to take lot of medication, said his wife.

It is suspected that Manjunath ended his life as he was unable to cope with the problems he faced due to his health condition. He had gone to the railway track on Monday morning at around 10.30 am. However, railway track checking was going on, and the workers convinced him not to end his life and gave him Rs 100.

Later, when he felt hungry, he went to a nearby shop and bought a packet of biscuits and tender coconut water. In the evening he returned to the railway crossing and ended his life under the Matsyagandha train.

Kundapur police are conducting the investigations.
