MANGALORE: The city-based private sector bank – Karnataka Bank Ltd- has promoted its general manager M S MahabaleshwaraBhat, 54, as its chief general manager. Bhat, a post graduate in agricultural sciences, has over 29 years of banking experience both at operational and administrative levels. He started his career as researcher and teacher at University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore and joined the bank as agricultural field officer in 1984.
Bhat, initially served at credit department of the Bank at its head office here. Later, he headed Banakal, Chikmagalur agricultural development branch) and Bangalore Kasturba Road branches of the Bank and has been the member of prestigious ‘Chairman’s Club” for five times. On his promotion as chief manager and later on as assistant general manager he served at credit department and planning and development department at its head office.
