Sullia, August 27: Urging for special package to the areca nut growers Sullia division BJP party staged a protest in front of Sullia taluk office and said that due to the rots problem nearly 80 percent of the crops got damaged and government must give at least 75bthousand as solution for the problem.
The sub crops like coco, coconut tree, banana plant and pepper plant also suffering from the disease and rubber plants are facing the problem of leaf falling. Hence, government must response the problem of people and must waive the debts, they urged.
On the occasion BJP workers thrown the areca nut in front of the taluk office and showed their anger. Sullia division BJP committee president Harish Kanjipili, Zilla Panchayat member Asha Thimmapa, Nveen Rai Menala, BJP leaders Venkat dambe kodi, A.V Theertharama, N.A. Ramachandra, P.G.S.N Prasad, Bhageerathi Murulya, APMC president Jayaram Haadikallu, taluk Panchayat Gunavathi Kollamthadka and others were present.
Before the protest they carried rally from Jyothi circle to taluk office.
