Konaje police arrests Madrasa teacher for sexually harassing a minor girl

Mangalore, Aug 26: A Madrasa teacher had been arrested by the Konaje police on charges of sexually harassing a minor girl, based on a complaint filed by the girl’s mother on Sunday, August 25.

The accused is identified as Poyyattabailu resident Abdul Khadar Yamani and he was sexually harassing a 6-year-old girl, who used to go to Madrasa from Boliyar.

Daily Harassment: Abdul was appointed at as Sadar before the beginning of Ramzan and he was warned her as not to tell with anyone.

Classmates revealed the truth: Regarding the harassment, the girl student shared the matter with classmates. But, later school teachers also came to know the issue; hence, while investigating her she revealed the truth. The teacher informed the matter to her mother and she complained to in charge of Juma Masjid.

A case has filed: Regarding the case, complaint has been registered in the Women and child development department and through their guidance mother of girl child registered the case in the Konaje police station. After the complaint, the police arrested Abdul and produced him in the court.

A source says that in earlier too, he was involved in sexual harassment cases. But, one of the team from Boliyar have brought the Madrasa students in the pick-up and supported the accused as he is innocent.

The court has sent him to judicial custody till September 6.
