Mangalore, August 26: Opposing the increasing rate to food items DYFI staged a protest in front of hotels near Deputy Commissioner Office.
Addressing the protesters district president Muneer Kaatipalla said that the increased rate must be controlled in the hotel and breakfast available centres. Uniform rates must be implemented and government should open a hotel, where people can get the food items in the less cost, he urged.
In the Dakshina Kannada, from medium to high level hotels like family restaurant, bar and restaurants, food rate reaches to sky. Mainly, students, common workers, auto, bus workers and all moves to breakfast centre, but everyone suffer from high rate. Moreover, each hotel follows different rate, hence, district administration must take an action to control such problems, he urged.
‘In the state like Kerala, Tamilnad, government itself opens a hotel and provides food items to the people in the cheap rate’, he added.
DYFI district committee secretary Dayanada Shetty, District vice- president Mahabala. T, Vice-president Seetharam Shetty Moodabidri, Ashok Shetty Chembu Gudde, Santhosh Bajal, Sonia Panjimoger and DYFI activists were present.
