Mangalore, Aug 22: The 158th birth anniversary of Brahmashree Narayana Guru had been celebrated in collaboration with Akhila Bharatha Billawas Union and Narayan Guru educational institutions at Narayan Guru College auditorium, Kudroli on Thursday August 22.
After inaugurating the programme MLA J R Lobo said that Brahmashree Narayan Guru has played a major role to bring the changes in the society and for social justice and due to his contribution to mankind, people still remember him as great saint. We need to respect our surrounding people and must live in united with people of all religion. Every kind of people was equal to saint Narayan guru and he struggled a lot for equality in the society. Hence, we must inculcate his values in our life’, he said.
Naveen Chandra D Suvarna, president of AKhila Bharatha Billawara Union presided over the function and said that Narayana Guru is a role model to every youth and every one must walk on his road to achieve great in the life. Century ago social condition was very bad, but Narayana guru brought new changes in the society, he said.
University professor and student welfare officer Dr P L Dharama, Prajavani, Mangalore Bureau Chief Balakrishna Puthige, Narayan Guru Educational institutions administrative officer K Balakrishna Gatti, Sumalatha N Suvarna and Dr Vasanth Kumar, college principal were present.
