A person from Manjeshwara drowns in Kumaradhara River

Subramanya: A person has submerged in the water at Kumaradhara Bathing Ghat, while taking teertha bath on Monday.

The deceased identified as Sachin (43), resident of Belyamgodi, Majeshwara, and son of late Kunjappa Belchada.

Due to Ashtamangala question, he has visited several temples and on Monday he visited along with his family to Subramanya for solution of Naagadosha. When he got down for teertha bath along with his relatives, he slipped and flowed away. He was crying for help and speed of the water was also high. But there was no swimming experts, hence, he drown in the water.

Though there were ropes and tubes for protection, unfortunately, the room was locked. When a home guard moved to get the key, everything was finished. There were no police and even the fire service securities also were searching for dead body, but they were not succeeded without swimming experts.

‘Due to lack of swimming experts, it was difficult to find the dead body, said Sullia fire service station officer Lokesh.

‘Thousands of devotees taking bath in the Kumaradaara River, but sad to say there is no preventive method for the problem’, said Mangalore Vijay Bank retired Manager T. Monappa Shetty.
