Karkala; August 13: Sources said that Narayana Poojary, aged 75 years, resident of Yerlapadi Thotada Mane, Karkala taluk has been undergoing treatment for kidney related (Kidney stone) problems for the past five years but without much expected results.
Frustrated by the recurrence of the disease in spite of undergoing treatment including surgeries, Narayana Poojary,has attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison on August 11,Sunday night but failed in his effort and was admitted in Wenlock hospital.
But on August 13, Tuesday morning he breathed his last as he was not responding to the treatment.
According to his son Vijaya Poojary’s complaint lodged in the Karkala police station ,his father has undergone surgery for three times to remove the kidney stone and again on August 3,he has undergone surgery and after returning from the hospital, he has resorted to this act.
Karkala police have registered a case in this regard as unnatural death.
