Karkala; August 03: Under distant and interior/remote regions development scheme, 25 different types of development projects have been undertaken during 2013-2014 in Karkala’s naxal-hit regions as per the recommendation of deputy commissioner at the cost of Rs 2.70 crore.
It was learnt that more priority was given in Naxal-hit regions for the construction of bridges, gutters, drainages, foot- bridges, flyovers along with the works of road repairs. Sources said that an amount of Rs 75 lac has already been sanctioned for the construction of much need bridge, near Brahmalingeshwara temple, situated on the way to Mannimaaru from Mala Chowki in Naxal-hit region.
Prior to this, people were facing lot of problems in their daily movements while crossing through one small bridge already existing. But now with the construction of larger bridge, one of the long standing dreams of the people will be realized, it states.
It also said that along with the development works in naxal-hit region, an amount of Rs 10 lac has also been sanctioned for the construction of Karkala and Hebri’s ANF hostel, rest room, bathrooms and toilets works in naxal-hit area.
Besides an amount of Rs 3 lac has been sanctioned for the construction of compound walls of Andaru and Mutlupadi higher primary schools of Varanga village in naxal-hit area. Also for the construction of Andaru Mutlupadi Ardhanaareeshwara Kallanda Mairoli road Rs 15 lac,Andaru-Mutlupadi-Kallotte Road Rs 3 lac for laying of broken stone in one kilo metre long distance, Rs 40 lac for the construction of foot/cart bridge in Andaru-Mutlupadi-Bommarabettu,Rs 6 lac for the construction of habitation CHC well in Bommarabettu of Varanga panchayat limit and Rs 10 lac for the construction of road, which leads to the house of Babu Gowda alias Chikkayya Gowda,in Andaaru-Muttlupadi Vaithala Darkasu have also been sanctioned.
Also Rs 3.5 lac for the construction of cement gutters near Anni Poojary’s house in Edhu Pelathakatte in Edhu village panchayat limit,Rs 3 lac for the construction of cement gutter near Edhu Kurkanje Vasantha Poojary’s house.Rs 2 lac for the construction of cement gutter near Edhu Kurkanje Ravi poojary’s house,Rs 2.5 lac for the construction of the already collapsed small bridge in Edhu Kukkinadka,Rs 4 lac for the construction of cement gutter near Sundara Devadiga and Krishna Devadiga’s house in Edhu Nooralbettu,Kukkinadka Pelathakatte, Rs 4 lac for the construction of cement gutter, near Nuralbettu Mujire Kuntanpalke Vishwanatha Poojary,Rs 4 lac for the construction of cement gutter near the houses of Edhu Nuralbettu yedhurottu Ananthraj Jain and Ajith Kumar Jain and Rs 2 lac for the construction of small bridge on the way to Battanige from Palke cross have also been sanctioned.
Also Rs 20 lac for the construction of foot- Bridge in Kabbinale Shivarmadi of Mudradi Village, Rs 6 lac for providing drinking water facility in Banglegudde of Kabbinale Nirani area and Rs 12 lac for the construction of veterinary hospital in Kabbinale Nirani area also sanctioned.
Rs 12 lac for the construction of open well to provide drinking water facility and raising main in Shirlalu of Shirlalu village panchayat limit, Rs 5 lac for the construction of Link- Bridge in Kervashe-Dhonadka SC/ST Colony near Kervashe-Shirlalu also sanctioned.
Rs 10 lac for the construction of foot bridge in Nadsalu Megadde Shantalamakki of Nadsalu panchayat limit and Rs 5 lac for the protection of footbridge near Nadsalu Thanniru, sanctioned.
Rs 75 lac has been sanctioned for the construction of bridge near Brahmalingeshwara temple on the way to Mannimaaru from Mala Chowki in Mala village panchayat limit.
Rs 10 lac also been sanctioned for the construction of ANF hostel with attached bathrooms, rest rooms and toilets under Hebri panchayat jurisdiction and Rs 10 lac for the construction of toilets and bathrooms in ANFcamp.
As per the sources some minor works have already completed and works of major projects like small and big bridge construction are in progress.
