The members of Muscat Mogaveers Koota (MMK) celebrated yet another family get-together with much pomp and fun on Friday, 3rd June 2016 at the Crystal Suites Auditorium. The event was just awesome and around 170 members attended the function and enjoyed to the core. MMK Committee carefully crafted the various programs to keep the members entertained and spellbound throughout the evening.
Invocation and Welcome Speech
At the outset, Divya Karthik melodiously rendered a prayer song invoking God’s blessings for the success of the program. Mr. Prakash Naik, the Vice President of MMK, kicked off the programme welcoming the members and giving an overview of MMK’s activities and the program content. Thereafter, the first time attendees were introduced to the members. Mr. Naik also mentioned about the financial assistance of Rs.50K given by MMK to Miss Beena back in Mangalore for her medical treatment and rehabilitation.
Mr. Shashi Puthran, Senior Member of MMK Advisory Committee, in his speech while wishing all the members a great evening, also requested everyone to extend full co-operation for the unity of Mogaveeras and continuing with MMK’s future activities, be it sports, entertainment, education or charity.
Congratulation and Felicitation
MMK players had displayed an outstanding performance in the recently concluded Kudla Cup Sports Event. In order to commemorate their achievement, Captains and the team members of all the MMK teams were felicitated by Mr. Shashi Puthran. MMK players brought great laurels by winning 6 out of 7 sports events emerging as the overall Champions of the Tournament. MMK players’ commendable achievement was applauded by all the members. MMK’s Sports Co-ordinator Mr. Vishwanath Bangera neatly conducted the proceedings of the felicitation program. He congratulated and thanked all the players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors for their whole hearted support and for their astounding victory.
Happy Married Life
Present on the event were some newly wedded couple from the member community, viz. Divya and Karthik, Rahul and Devika, who were felicitated on this occasion with floral bouquet. They received blessings for their happy married life from Dr. Devdas Shriyan and Mrs. Sudha Devdas Shriyan and Mr. & Mrs. Shankar Kotian respectively. Also, in celebration of their birth days Master Roshan Lokesh Kunder and Mrs. Veena Suresh were invited on stage. To mark the joint celebration a cake cutting ceremony was conducted.
Miss Rashmi Lokesh Kunder, who was on a short visit to Muscat, was invited on stage with a huge round of applause to take charge of the cultural program. Rashmi hosted the whole program very eloquently in her unique style and flair. By all means she was the darling of the evening and she stole the hearts of the audience.
The Guest Invitee, Mr. Raj Sanil was the DJ of the evening, and along with him Mr. Ashok Kotian, Ms. Divya Karthik and Mr. Prakash Naik presented some nostalgic songs from the old movies in Hindi, Kannada and Tulu. The audience enjoyed the soothing music rendered so smoothly.
Spectacular Dance Performances
Many creative classic and fusion dances were presented, which kept every enthusiast in full spirit. The star performers were:

Sohan Girish, Harshil Padmakar, Jeeval Padmakar & Niketan Pushparaj for “Tukur Tukur” from Dilwale Choreographed by: Mrs. Hetal Patel and Co-ordinated by Mrs. Sahana Girish.
Vandana Padmakar, Heema Ryle, Roopa Umesh & Ruchika Dhananjay for “Pinga” from Bajirao Mastani Choregraphed by: Heema Ryle, Co-ordinated by: Mrs. Roopa Umesh.
The Guest Choreographers, Mrs. Hetal Patel and Mrs. Asha Hemant were duly felicitated as a gesture of appreciation for their fantastic choreography. All the participants were rewarded with beautiful gifts for their marvelous performance.
Mr. Suresh Kunder and Mr. Ramanand Kunder made a brief presentation on the Silver Jubilee Souvenir.
Several indoor games were conducted separately for children, ladies, couples, bachelors and open to all with the efficient co-ordination of Dhananjay Mendon, Shesh Kanchan and Vishwanath Bangera. At the end of the program the winners of the games and dance performers were given away their respective winning prizes/gifts by some of the Community Sponsors, Guests and Committee Members. Prizes/Gifts were kindly sponsored by Dr. Ranjan, Mr. Padmakar Mendon and Mr. Yashwanth Mendon. Mr. Mahabala Mendon, who is one of MMK’s regular sponsors, also sponsored this event.
Dinner, Vote of Thanks and Gratitude
The spellbound audience sat through the whole program enjoying every bit of it. All the members enjoyed appetizer session in the beginning and delicious dinner at the end of the program and went home in a quite content mood.
Mr. Shesh Kanchan gave a vote of thanks, who also arranged an eye catching backdrop for the event.
The entire programme was conceived and well co-ordinated by MMK Committee. Kudos to MMK Committee for successfully conducting another grand and memorable event. MMK Committee expressed its genuine gratitude to the guests who attended the event with family despite other commitments and busy schedules. MMK Committee also appreciated the collaboration, support and assistance of the evenings’ well-wishers and sponsors, and acknowledged and applauded the support, commitment and dedication of all its members and volunteers who worked hard to organize an event of this magnitude.
