Mangalore, August 2: People should give the importance to forest preservation as equal important to consumption of food and should concern towards environment protection, said Dakshina Kannada in Charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai.
He was speaking after inauguration of Vanamahotsava programme organised by Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists Association and Mangalore forest protection department here on Friday; he said that this time large numbers of samplings need to be plant and Lakshavraksha Campaign will start from tomorrow on wards and it will take a shape in Mangalore also. This programme should spread around the world and plant species need to grow along with human and animals, he said.
Addressing the media persons he said that samplings will be plant in the plain area and cow thieves will be punished. No one should take the legal rights in their hands and if they carry action will take against them. ’In coming days, communal riots in the colleges will cause to stop the election procedures in those colleges’, he said.
Mangalore zone forest officer Cliffort Lobo, Forest Guard Palaya, Deputy Guard Shanthappa, former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde, Corporate Mahabala Maarla, D. K Working journalist association president P B Harish Rai were present.
