Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), a premier Catholic Association in Kuwait, held its General Body Meeting on Friday, 22nd April 2016 in Indian Public School, Salmiya. The meeting commenced at 6:30 pm with the opening prayer lead by Alwyn Noronha. President, Albert Praveen Menezes heartily welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude towards all the members for their support, love and encouragement.
Various Reports were presented and appreciated by all. Louis D’costa and Steven Rego presented Minutes of last GBM and activity reports respectively. Finance, Membership and educational fund reports were presented by Steevan Misquith, Vijay D’souza and Reema D’Souza respectively. Cultural and Sports activity updates were presented by Satish Saldanha and Loyd D’Souza respectively. KCWA website and Facebook updates were presented by Rajesh Aranha. KCWA constitution amendments which were proposed by Managing Committee and approved in the last GBM were applicable after this GBM as there was no objection from any members. Lucky draw was held by Navin Mascarenhas for the members present at the venue. Jinella Rodrigues emerged as the lucky winner. KCWA Spiritual director, Fr. Noel D’Almeida, lauded the works and achievements of KCWA.
Michael Pinto proposed vote of thanks followed by closing prayer. Vice President Freya Saldanha was the moderator. Alban D’Souza captured the event through his skills in photography. Sound system was provided by Waves Events & Rentals – Anand D’souza. Dinner was served by PPPS restaurant. Around 100 members and their families were present.
KCWA Managing committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to members for attending the GBM in large numbers and for their valuable suggestions and also thank the management of IPS Salmiya for providing the auditorium.
