SC- ST meet; Complaint need to be registered for Police action: Maneesh Karbeekar

Mangalore, July 29: In the serious crime cases, relevant persons need to register the complaint soon, which helps to take stringent action over the accused, said Police Commssioner Maneesh Karbeekar.

He was speaking after receiving the demand in the SCs and STs Weekly meeting, here on Sunday.

Dalit leader Keshava.P urges to take stringent action against the criminals on the occasion.

In a response, Deputy Commissioner Dharmayya said that police are playing a proper role through presenting the accused in the court. If witness stays in his words, it will help to make accused get punished, otherwise police are will not be responsible and witness should be clear in this issue, he said.

Dalit Committeemember Girish Kumar alleged that in recent incident about facebook problem at Konaje, dalit youth, Prasad was attacked, but no case has been filed yet. In a response Commssioner said that no complaint was registered, if complaint given then we will investigate.

Dalit Committee member S. P. Anandh complained that in relation Kavoor station, a dalit woman harassed by senior officer and used derogatory words. In an answer Darmayya said that officer was warned and if cast petition complaints are registered, then stringent action will take against them. Stressing about the police patrol, he said that police are in emergency work on water disaster, but action will be taken within 15 days. Rather than supporting the criminals, public should join hands with police, he said.
