Mangalore., July, 24: The Mangalore City Corporation has decided to perform the management of urban area housing fecility of Sharavu and Urwa for city homeless / night non-resident citizen, under poverty Eradication cell for next three month.
The decision had been taken in the meeting, held at mangalore City Corporation, under the presidency of Deputy Commissioner N Prakash and in the presence of NGOs to improve the management system. Meanwhile, the blueprint of well prepared housing centre at harbour Kasaba Centre was presented in front of the meeting and the meeting proposed to continue with the project. The meeting had decided that the Suvarna Karnataka Institution was managing housing facility by taking outer contract under the Lead NGO and Implementing NGO yet. After the period of contract, the city corporation has to provide the basic amenities through the poverty eradication cell along with the help of NGOs to provide the better service for next three month.
Child Protection Unit President Asha Nayak said that exploiting the tendency of children, the begging businesses are found heavily in the city’s main circles. Hence, along with the help of the police department and other department, Child Protection Unit need to take stringent action against such odds, she said.
Food and Civil Supplies deputy director sharanabasappa, Corporation joint commissioner Shrikanth and NGOs and corporation officials were present.
