Kundapur, December 10: While levelling the land in Atradi, Vandse village in the taluk a huge pot like structure has been discovered. It is said that this structure might be thousands of years old.
The paddy field belonging to Susheela Shetty was being levelled in Vandse using a JCB machine to construct building of Vijaya School. Meanwhile, this old structure was discovered about five feet below the ground level. This structure appears to be pot shaped and the top portion is covered using stone slabs. The inner part of this structure is smooth. A part of covering of this structure is damaged and there is a lot of space inside. The land owners believed that this structure might have been used to store valuables in the ancient days and immediately conveyed the message to the revenue department and police department.
Officials have visited the spot.
Curiosity among locals: As the news spread, people are visiting this spot in large numbers to witness this old structure.
It is believed that this structure might have been used to store valuable items and the real fact would be known only after a study by the experts.
