Speaking to reporters later, Harikrishna Bantwal said, for the upcoming MLC polls, I have filed my nomination as a faithful and sincere congress worker. As injustice is being done to the honest workers, I have field this nomination. I will not withdraw the nomination for any reason, he said.

I am inspired by Swami Vivekananda, Sri Narayanaguru and former Union minister B Janardhan Poojary. I am in politics from 43 years. Since 1982, I am working with Poojary. Till now I have not got any position from congress, I have not filed nominations. From block congress to district congress, and as KPCC spokesperson I have handled the works. The congress party has overlooked honest workers and provided tickets to those who denied tickets, alleged Harikrishna Bantwal.

I do not have money. But a team of honest workers are supporting me. I have not filed nomination for the position. I do not want power. But injustice is being done for the sincere workers. Such injustice should not occur in the next elections. So I have decided to fight against such system. Hence, I will not withdraw from contesting in the elections. In the recent days, untoward incidents are rising in Dakshina Kannada district and for all these problems I will respond, said Harikrishna Bantwal.

Congress leaders such as Kallige Tharanath Shetty, former president of Youth Congress- Arun Coelho, Shiraj Shetty Kolambe, and other congress activists were present.
