Mangaluru,Dec.6th : The ninth annual Hercules RxLife Cycle Rally conducted by Svasti Rxlife Trust was held in Mangalore today. More than 2,400 participants in the Age group of 10-85 pedalled 21Kms, passing through Bejai, Malemar, Kuloor,Panambur, Kottara – Urvastore – Ashoknagar – Hoigebail –Batteri. The rally was flagged of at 6.30 AM from Ladyhill and concluded at 10.30 AM at Amrita Vidyalayam School grounds, Bolooru.
The Rally was inaugurated by Sri Gopinath P. A. retired lecturer from Canara PU college, It was Flagged off by S. Murugan IPS, Commissioner of Police, Sri S. Mukund Kamath of Ideal Group, Mr Badrinath Nayak form Jyothi Cycles Co., Sri Benesh and Sri Sandeep from TI cycles, Chennai and Mr Amrith Kini, Advocate from Mangalore.
Eight cycles were handed over to Lucky riders; Namely,
- The most elderly rider Mr Walter D’Mello Resident of Matadakhani, Mangalore
- Lady Rider, Anusha From Ladyhill school
- Prasad Hande, an IT Professional
- Dhanush from Canara High School,
- Dhanaraj from Sarojini Madhusudan Kushe School,
- Chinthan Shetty fom Sharada Vidyalaya
- Narendra Kudva from SLMP School, Panemangaluru
Three postmen of Mangalore Namely, Sri Ganesh from Urwa Post office, Sri Ganesh Bhat from Kodialbail Post office and Sri Ravindra from Maroli Post office were presented with Cycles.
Prashal, student from SDM Mangala jyothi School was presented with a Cycle. He is deaf and mute and has been participating in the rally from past couple of years.
A practical hands on Basic lifesaving Skills (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) was demonstrated by the doctors of Indian Society of Anesthesiology (ISA) and Indian Medical Association (IMA) in association with KSHEMA and Tech2people Healthcare.
The event was sponsored by Hercules, Ideal Ice cream, K Ullas Kamath, MRPL, Nitte Group, Jyoti Cycle Co. and Karnataka Bank.
Members of Team Managlore, YHAI, Sahyadri Sanchaya, SICASA, Rx Family, S Cube, Mangalore Bicycle Club, and many other organizations joined hands with Mangalore Police in smooth functioning of this rally.
