Floods in Tamil Nadu: No permission to collect donations.

Mangaluru, December 5: Following the incident of the heavy down pour at Chennai in Tamilnadu State, that has caused heavy floods in the area; it has come to the notice of district administration that some people and organizations have come forward to raise funds for the victims. So far no orders have been issued by the government or the district administration to the public’s or the organizations.

The Tamilnadu government has already said that it does not need any donations from the other states and hence the district administration is not collecting donations in any form.

Publics have been asked not to give any sort of donations to any associations or organizations for this cause. In case, if anyone is found illegally collecting donations from the public’s, it has to be brought to the attention of the district administration at toll free number-1077, stated a release from the office of deputy commissioner.

Due the floods in Tamil Nadu; if Karnataka people have gone missing or need to be rescued there, their details have to be informed to the Karnataka State Emergency Relief Centre (Bengaluru)- 1070 (toll free number) or contact at 080- 22340676. The details would be forwarded to the officers in Tamil Nadu state and appropriate measures would be taken to rescue the people in distress, informed the Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim.
