Mangalore, July 11: It has been reported that in one of the rarest of rare incidents, the body of a new born male baby was found floating in a river at Talapady on July 11, Thursday.
According to the police, baby might have been abandoned immediately after the birth by mother of the infant. The body was first noticed by the locals, who in turn informed the panchayat members for further action.
The police, who have been informed by the panchayat members, arrived at the spot.
The body of the baby has been shifted to hospital for post mortem with some injuries on the body.
There is no clue about the parents’ whereabouts and how the baby has been abandoned.
Investigation by Ullal police is in progress.
