Mangaluru, November 23: Pandeshwar police arrested seven persons in connection to the assault and attempt to murder Sandeep Shetty, resident of Jeppu Kutpady and his friend Avinash that took place in Marnamikatte on the night of November 18th.
The arrested are identified as Kaushik Benne (20), resident of Shivnagar in Pandeshwar, Abishek alias Abhi(20), resident near Koragajja Katte in Shivanagar, Nikhil Shetty (19), resident of Udupi Santhekatte, Shreyas Rao alias Sachhu (21), from Jalligudde in Padil, Prasad (23) from Gujjarakere in Jeppu, Nitesh S Shetty alias Neetu(19) resident near Mangaladevi and a juvenile stand arrested by the police.
Four machetes, one iron rod, three motor bikes used for the crime have been seized from the possession of the accused.
The accused Kaushik Benne, Abhishek, Nikhil Shetty, Shreyas Rao, Prasad and the juvenile are directly associated in the case. Some others have indirectly supported for the crime and investigations are on to trace them. Investigations revealed that accused committed this crime due to a old rivalry, said the police.
