Four men arrested for threatening police using revolver in police station.

Beltangady, November 20: A man claiming to be the president of Human Rights Federation entered into the police station here along with three others on Thursday, November 19th stand arrested for threatening the police personnel’s by pointing a revolver at them.

The arrested are identified as Dayanand B (37), President of Human Rights Federation, textile merchant, resident near KMF Hassan; Ravi (40) from Hassan, Ranganath Bhat (46) from Hassan and Basavaraja Kodachi (27) from Belgaum. A Swift car and revolver have been seized from their possession.

These four men arrived by a car on Thursday evening and suddenly entered the police station. Dayanand G S then questioned the police personnel Harish Siddakatte that whether he does not know to give respect to the former. When the police said they do not know who he was, the man claimed that he knows the top officials and he would get them phoned from the DG office in Bengaluru and get to know who he was, it is learnt.

It is said, Dayanand G S also spoke rudely to Additional SHO- head constable Lokanath and while he asked for the SI of the police station, naturally the police asked him his designation. For this, the man replied he would let them know it later and began capturing the images of the police staffs there in his mobile phone.

When the police Lokanath objected to this, he pushed him. Harish who came to stop them was also pushed by a man who came along with Dayanand. Later Dayanand claimed that he was the president of Human Rights Authority. Then he removed a revolver from his waist and pointed at the police staffs. The men who came along with him also co-operated in his acts and began threatening the police. Staff Harish and a person Karim from Gerukatte and other publics managed to stop the strangers.

Cases have been registered against the four under various acts and investigations are on.
