Mangaluru, November 20: The ‘Mangaluru Job fair-2015’ organized at Canara Engineering College, Benjanapadavu, was inaugurated by Magsaysay award winner Dr H Harish Hande, the Administrative Director of Selco India Private Limited on Friday morning, November 19th.
DK district in-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai, presided over the program. Chairman of Alvas Education Foundation Dr Mohan Alva, Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, DK District Superintendent of Police Dr S D Sharanappa, ADC Kumar, ZP CEO Srividya, BUDA chairman Piush Rodrigus, ZP former chairman Mamatha Gatti, organizer of the job fair Vivek Alva, Dr U T Iftikar Ali and others were present on this occasion.
Over 15,000 job aspirants participated in the job fair.
This Mangaluru job fair -2015 organized under the partnership of DK District administration, and Environment and Biology Department in which 213 companies from India, and 8 foreign companies have registered to participate, informed DC AB Ibrahim.
Till now, as many as 14,300 job aspirants have registered their names to participate in the job fair. Over the past 30 hours, the on-line registration process has crossed the expected limit. This number is likely to increase, and provisions are made for registering names at the counter in job fair.
Out of the job aspirants registered to participate in the job fair, the most of candidates are from DK district. About 75% of the candidates from DK district have registered their names to participate in the job fair, explained the DC.
At present, the jobless youths in DK district are joining with miscreants and are disrupting the law and order. We can avoid the youths taking wrong way by providing jobs to the jobless. In this view, facility is made to provide jobs through this job fair to the jobless youth, informed DC Ibrahim.
Post registering their names for the job fair, the candidates were given colour codes according to their qualifications. Various colour codes were pasted in front of different rooms in which the companies were interviewing the candidates. If the colour codes matched with the colour codes of the companies, the candidates could move ahead for the interview.
Since three months, preparations were made to organize this job fair successfully. Meetings were called at Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Dubai, Sharjah, and Abudhabi. Dress codes for the candidates arriving for the interview were also mentioned before time.
Special arrangements for the companies:
For the companies that arrived from Bengaluru to participate in the job fair, 6 Volvo bus facility, and one tempo traveller facility was also made.
Bus facility for job aspirants:
Free bus facility was provided for the job aspirants arriving at the job fair. Free bus service was provided from Pumpwell, BC Road, Maripalla cross, and Gurupura Kaikamba. In the same way KSRTC paid bus facility were also provided from BC Road bus stand, State bank bus stand, and Lalbhagh areas.
