Three men arrested for robbing cash from Textile merchants.

Mangaluru, November 16: Burglars stopped a vehicle in which five textile merchants from the city were travelling and burgled their valuables on Sunday November 15th. The incident occurred near the railway cross at Bajal. Cash amounting to Rs 1,30,100 as well as items valued at Rs 1,44,000 were allegedly snatched away from the merchants.

In connection to the incident, police have arrested three among the accused into custody. They are on a look out for rest two accused.

It is said that, Bhurra Ram from Rajasthan along with his friends were travelling from the city towards B C Road at around 3.10 am on Sunday. Meanwhile, four unidentified people intercepted their vehicle near Bajal railway cross and they allegedly pointed their pistols and knife at the occupants in the car, and forcibly fled with cash, cell phones, bag, and other valuables kept in the vehicle.

It is learnt, person named Bhanwar Maharaj was driving the Scorpio vehicle in which these merchants were travelling. Police suspect that the driver might have joined hands with the thieves.

It is gathered that Bhurra Ram and others are engaged in selling of clothes in Mangaluru and B C Road. They also operate a textile shop at Bunder here and B C Road. It is said that after reaching Padil, the vehicle in which they were travelling was driven towards Kankanady railway station instead of B C Road.

The rural police registered a case, and have taken up investigations.
