District peaceful, additional police force deployed in the district: DC Ibrahim.

Mangaluru, November 16: The law and order situation in Dakshina Kannada district is completely under control, and the imposition of Section 144 has ended on the night of Sunday, said Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim.

This was informed in a statement by the DC. In some places of the district, some more time is needed to see the complete peaceful situation. Hence restrictions have been imposed till November 20th for conducting rallies, protests, public meetings, bandh, strikes and road blocks as per column 20 of police act. In case of unavoidable circumstances to hold any event, applications can be sent to the deputy commissioner seeking for permission. The district administration will grant permission after consideration, he informed.

He also said that to maintain law and order, police personnel’s including the Rapid Action Force, police personnel from neighbouring districts and also KSRP platoons have been deployed in the district. He has appealed to the public to co-operate in maintaining peace in the society and to report the suspicious movements of strangers to the police. As most of the unpleasant incidents have taken place during night, public have been asked to avoid moving out at night.

The deputy commissioner has visited the people those who were being treated in hospitals after sustaining injuries in some unpleasant incidents that took place last week. Out of the 6 injured, one person has been discharged. All the hospital expenses of the injured will be borne by the district administration, informed the Deputy Commissioner.

Situation in Ullal is completely under control.

Police have continued checking of vehicles on the roads and some special check posts have also been erected.
