Udupi Zilla Panchayath officials look out for drop-out children from slum & enroll back to School

UDUPI: A small effort from Udupi Zilla Panchayath to admit, and re admit the drop-outs children from slum area to schools took place today.

Around four children were admitted from Nittur and Beedangudde slums. CEO Prabhakar Sharma said that education should be extended all the poor once which includes the children from the slum areas too. There are various reasons why they miss education. Though the reason is not important but education which will help them to lead a healthy life in future is important.

He added few children will not prefer to go to schools and engage in child labor  and in few cases they will also involved in minor theft. Some children remain in houses to take care of the small once. In few cases children will be admitted to schools, but will not continue.

The parents play most important role they are convinced and made to send their kids to schools.  CEO added that the children who stay in the hostel continue his or her study more effectively than others.

CEO added there are also kids below three years of age who do not go to Anganavadi. The drive is included in three taluks of the district.

From Beedangudde slum, Vittala aged 6, Yellappa aged 11, Reshma aged 7 and Sunkamma aged around 6.

All the childern will be admitted to the nearby government schools.
