Mangaluru, October 6: Due to heavy showers in Mangaluru, rain water along with sewage water had entered into a building that housed many shops located close by KSRTC bus terminus here on Monday, October 5th.
During rainy day, rain water flowing on the street is a common scene in this place.
If one problem is that the drainage system is inappropriate for the rain water to flow freely, the other issue is that shops are rising in the parking areas of the buildings. Even a very small area is utilized the best. The vehicles are parked by the road sides. Hence there is no proper channel for the rain water to flow freely.
Pedestrians always find it very difficult to move in this road as there is a heavy traffic flow in this stretch and in addition, the water flowing over the road makes them to receive a splash of dirty water when the vehicles pass by.
