Belthangady, October 01: A massive awareness program was organized at Guruvayankere near Belthangady on Wednesday, September 30th; by the devotees of Lord Shree Manjunatha alleging that false allegations are made against Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala and Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade.
Shree Rajashekarananada Swamiji of Vajradehi Mutt addressed the gathered and said, Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala is a sacred place which is famed for Truth and Dhrama. Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade has rendered great services in the country and abroad. Some people are making false allegations against the Kshetra and Peetha. Against such people, the believers of Dharma and Truth have begun to revolt, said Rajashekarananada Swamiji.
Today the devotees rage has burst out like volcano. Do not let it flow as lava. Such allegations has to be stopped, otherwise the fight will continue until the wicked are subdued, said Swamiji.
Vikyananda Swamiji of Balyottu Kshetra said, it is not right to spread false messages against a religious centre and also on persons who are in a highest position. By creating confusion in the society, no achievement could be done. Intentionally, some are spreading false messages and against this raged people in large numbers have gathered to protest. He warned of intense protests, in case such incidents occur in future.
Mohandas Swamiji of Shree Dhama Manila, Muktananda Swamiji Karinje Kshetra, Shree Yogananda Swamiji of Kondayuru, and Shree Mahabala Swamiji of Kanyana Kshetra also spoke on this occasion and expressed their support.
Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alvas Educational institutions speaking on this occasion said, Dr D Veerendra Heggade who works in transparency serving the public and striving for the up-liftment of society against whom some are misguiding the people. Why does not the police department control such people?. Such persons must be controlled Before the people take to street in protest, said Dr Mohan Alva.
Former Minister Appanna Hegde, Ashok Bhat Ujire, B A Rehman and others also addressed the protesters.
Nagarika Seva Samithi President Keshava Gowda Belalu welcomed while Dayananda Kattarsal compeered the program. Later a memorandum was submitted through the Puttur Additional Commissioner to the District in-charge minister.
Tight police security was deployed at the spot.
