Kasargod, October 1: in relation to the Kudlu Service Co-operative bank robbery case, one more person has been arrested from Goa by the police. With this the total number of arrests has raised to five.
On the afternoon of September 7th, the gang had entered Kudlu Service Cooperative bank and looted 21 kilograms of gold and cash Rs 13 lakhs in cash by threatening the bank employees.
The accused is identified as Abdul Karim (31) from Chowki Majal.
Police recovered 50 sovereigns of gold which was sold in Madgao, Goa. So far the total gold seized is 8 kilograms. Another accused Mujhib is yet to be arrested. Police believe that he has the remaining gold.
So far, police arrested Sharif from Pachambala (42), Shahnawaz (20) from Chowki Majal, Abdul Karim from Chowki Majal (31), Mohammed Sabir (27) from Chowki Badar Nagar, and Abdul Mahshuk from Chowki (26).
7.5 kilograms of gold was seized from Sharif from Pachambala. Police believe that 9 persons were involved in the burglary among whom four are still absconding.
