Mangaluru, September 16: The Panambur police arrested five persons while attempting to sell cars here that were stolen from other states. Police seized Rs 6.30 lakhs cars from the accused.
The arrested are identified as Rohan Shylesh D’Souza (29) from Ullal, Mohammed Naufik (20) from Kasba Bengre, Ummer Farooq (43) from KBS Jokatte, Davin Clinton alias Davin (21) from Raye Bantwal, and Harris alias Chandu (23) from Kasba Bengre.
The accused had arrived near BPCL to sell a Innova car bearing Kearla registration number, a Swift car and bike without number plate.
Meanwhile, Panambur Inspector Lokesh while on a patrol under suspicion questioned the accused, then it was revealed that the vehicles were stolen.
It is said that the accused stole cars from Kearla and Goa. Police have registered a case and investigations are on.
