Mangaluru, September 8: Monthi Fest the birthday of Mother Mary is being grandly celebrated across the Dakshina Kananda district on Tuesday, September 8th.
Thousands of devotees gathered at various Churches and celebrated the Monthi Fest with much devotion.
On this day, first paddy is harvested and is brought in a procession and blessed by the priest. Later the blessed paddy is taken home.
During this fest the family members gather together and relish variety vegetarian dishes.
