Missing young working woman’s skeletal remains found near Suratkal

Mangaluru, September 4: The skeletal remains of a young working woman who had gone missing about a month ago was found in the bushes at Munchur falling under Suratkal police jurisdiction on Friday September 4th.

The identity of deceased has been established as Shwetha (24), resident of Adyapady, Bajpe.
It is gathered that about a month ago, working woman Shwetha had gone missing. A missing complaint was also filed in Kavoor police station.

It is learnt that, Shwetha used to pay frequent visit to her uncle’s house near Suratkal.
On September 4th, some locals had been to the place to collect leaves on the eve of Krishna Janmastami. Meanwhile they saw, skeleton of human and also a bag in the close vicinity. They then informed the matter to the police.

Police immediately rushed at the spot and established the identity of the deceased with the help of the id card and Aadhaar card which were in the bag at the spot. Shwetha had gone missing since June 26th, 2015.

Police sources said that a bag was found near the skeletal remains, in which there were two mobile phones, id card and Aadhaar card, by which her identity could be established.
The cause of death is yet to be ascertained.

The Suratkal police have undertaken investigations to find the cause of death.
