Illegal cattle trafficking: Police arrest two, one escapes.

Puttur, September 3: The Uppinangady police have raided a lorry and arrested two men along with the cattle while they were involved in illegal cattle trafficking. Another accused has escaped during the raid, said the police.

Early morning on Wednesday, the police acting on reliable information, inspected vehicles at 34th Nekkiladi junction and found an Eicher Lorry transporting cattle illegally without possessing suitable documents.

In connection to this case, Imran, resident of Bombay bazzar near Basava circle in Hassan and Aziz, resident of Hosur in Haleebedu were arrested by the police.

Nawaz who was also present in the lorry escaped during the raid. The cattle were transported from Hassan to Kerala, informed the police.

In this operation, Uppinangady Station house officer Thimmappa Naika, personnel’s Devdas, Manohar Moolya, Shridhar, Sachin and Jeep driver Raghuram had participated.
