Mangalore, June 25: On behalf of Kerala Samaja, Mangalore, a protest has been organized on June 25, Tuesday condemning the alleged gang rape of Manipal medical student and demanded the immediate arrest of the people involved in the barbaric act of crime like this and stringent punishment must be given to the culprits.
Starting from city’s K S Rao road till DCs office, protestors moved in groups and protested against the brutal gang rape of final year medical student at Manipal and demanded for the immediate arrest of the culprits.
Thereafter while addressing the protestors T K Rajan, President Kerala Samaja said in his speech that students from outside states coming for education purpose and when any one of such students are happened to the victims of crimes like this, people must unite together and co-operate in nabbing the culprits,he added.
Maxin Sebastian, vice president said in his address that culprits must be apprehended immediately and stringent punishment to be given. He further added that in Manipal students from outside states including Kerala are studying and public should respond when students fall victim of crimes like this.
City’s total Kerala Samaja educational institutions, Amrita Vidhyalaya, SDM, Sharada, Shree Devi, Madhusoodhan Kushe, St Agnes around 600 students have participated and vented their anger against the gang rape.
Balagopalan, vice president and Murali and among others spoke on the occasion.
