Using fake passport, murder accused tries to fly abroad, arrested by police.

Mangaluru, July 29: A man accused in murder case was arrested on Tuesday July 28th, from the Mangaluru International Airport here while he tried to fly abroad using a fake passport.

The arrested man has been identified as Haneef alias Chotte Haneef (33), a resident of Maripalla village.

Haneef is said to be one of the prime accused in the murder of Rifai, an auto rickshaw driver from Maripalla. Initially he was arrested and later released after procuring conditional bail from the state high court.

The officials at the MIA intercepted him on Tuesday when he tried to move abroad, and informed the Bantwal rural police.

It is gathered that Haneef  had got done a fake passport in his name in 2008 by providing a false address of Mysuru. By using this passport, he was trying to escape from the hands of law.

The police team led by Bantwal rural police sub-inspector Rakshit, took Haneef into custody, produced him in the court and was then remanded to judicial custody.
