Memorandum
Sub: Condemning women atrocities and rape cases in India.
Respected Sir / Madam,
Campus Front of India condemns in the strongest terms the unfortunate events the alleged gang-rape of a medical student at Manipal by three men late night on Thursday June 20, the victim girl was 22-year-old medical student hailing from Kerala was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped. It is a matter of concern that there has been an exponential rise in the rape and atrocity cases against women in the country. Lack of action towards these cases, lengthy trials has added fuel to this trend.
The women form an important section of our society, throughout history in Indian culture the women has been held in high regards, this dangerous increase of rapes not only does destroy our society’s morale but they also lead to the decay of the society in general. We Campus Front of India demand State Government and Government of India, to take strict actions towards the guilty, and ensure fast trial and punish the culprits as soon as possible, as the perpetrators of these heinous crimes are unfit to live in the society. They must be hanged publicly and the Karnataka state government should take necessary security and safety measures to protect the freedom and liberty of women with stricter and vigilant guidelines.
We also demand government to ensure safety of women. It is a really slap on face of government that a girl is raped in Educational hub (Manipal) and nobody takes heed. If women are not safe in educational hub of our state which is a heavily monitored area, what can we expect for remote places of state? The cases as above are unacceptable and blot on a society. Government must ensure that there is no repetition of it. A society which cannot ensure a woman safety is always a danger of falling apart.
We demand immediate arrest and enactment of a law for speedy trials in cases of rape and also stricter punishments no lesser than death penalty should be adopted. The laws against rape must be so strict that this grave crime is effectively tackled.
Thanks & Regards
Ashiq Moolur
