Mangalore, June 24: It has been reported that Sharan Rao, a Mangalorean lad of Derik’s Chess School was declared as the state chess champion in under -13 category in chess championship organized by ICA on behalf of UKCA at Red Brigade International School, Bangalore from June 18 to 20.
Sharan, who scored unbeaten 8 points in 9 rounds with 7 wins and two draws.
With this performance, Sharan has been chosen to represent Karnataka in the national under-13 chess championship, which will be held at Pondicherry from June 29 to July 8.
