‘Sangama Sambhrama’ five-day cultural and state-level conference inaugurated by DC Ibrahim.

Mangaluru, July 22: The inauguration ceremony of ‘Sangama Sambhrama-2015′ a five-day cultural and state-level conference jointly organized by Karnataka Tulu, Konkani and Beary Sahitya Academies, took place at Dr Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama, Vamanjoor here on Wednesday July 22nd.

DK Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim inaugurated the event and M S Murthy, chairman of Karnataka Lalitha Kala Academy presided over the event.

Addressing the gathered DC Ibrahim said, in the past in DK district there was unity in diversity, but nowadays we notice that some forces are attempting to divide the society. The three academies have joined together which is a sign of unity. In order to promote harmony, such programmes have to be organized more. it becomes a positive  uniting, when the three religions with their cultural differences come closer and organize cultural events.

M S Murthy, said, since the past eight months, twenty five art programmes have been organized in the state. For the first time an art programme has been initiated in the district by the Lalitha Kala Academy. It is a wonderful moment when the best artists of the district come together and present their art, he said.

The guests were welcomed by B A Mohammed Haneef, president of Beary Sahitya Academy.

Prabhakar Sharma, executive director Pilikula Nisargadhama, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president Janaki Brahmavar, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino, registrars of Tulu, Konkani, Beary and Academies Chandrahas Rai, Dr B Devadas Pai, and Umarabba respectively and others were present on this occasion.
