Mangaluru, July 11: As many as 12,000 state government employees in Dakshina Kannada district will get an increment of 20% in the housing rent allowance, informed MLC Ivan D’Souza in a press meet on Saturday July 11th.
Speaking at the meet he thanked the chief minister Siddaramaiah and also other ministers for extending their support in this matter. In 2008, the central government employees got 20% hike in HRA but the state government employees were devoid of it. The housing rent allowance 20% hike will be provided to state government employees, and employees of KSRTC, co-operative societies, and co-operative banks, KPTL, Mescom, city corporation, KMF, collegiate education, all aided educational institutions, and MUDA he said.
Ivan said, he has urged the state government to provide health insurance to media crew and Rajiv Gandhi health insurance to the family members of the media persons.
He further said, Government quarters renovation works at Urwa Store has been completed at a cost of Rs 866.02 lakhs. Throughout the district, there are 504 government quarters and a total of Rs 959.94 lakhs has been spent for the renovation works. I have also requested the state government to provide recognition and introduce new policies to web media in the district, he added.
