National and State Journalist’s conference scheduled in the city on July 4th and 5th

Mangaluru, July 2: The National and State conference of the Indian Journalists Union (R) and Karnataka Journalists Union (R) is scheduled on July 4th and 5th at Vaibhav Hall in Mangaluru.

On July 6th, tourist spots in Moodbidri and Mangaluru will be introduced to all the journalists arriving from across the country. Over 40 senior journalists are expected to arrive from across India to Mangaluru. Forty journalists will arrive from each district of the state to this event said the Sudhesh Kumar, DK district president of Karnataka Journalists Association.

Addressing a press conference at Press Club here he said, on July 4th Journalists conference-2015 is scheduled at Besants College in the city at 5pm. Senior Journalist S Jayaram will speak on the topic “Television media in the past and present” and debate on various topics related to journalism will also be held.

District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai will inaugurate this event. The event will be presided over by the state president of the association Murugesh B Shivapooji, he said.

Health Minister U T Khadar, Minister of Fisheries Abhaychandra Jain, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA’s JR Lobo and Moideen Bava, Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, Police Commissioner S Murugan, Indian Journalists Union national president Kishan Bal Pandith, Mayor of Mangaluru City Corporation Jacintha Vijay Alfred, S.C.D.C.C bank president Rajendra Kumar, Working Journalists Association President Jaganath Shetty Bala, owner of Panama company Vivek Raj, Ganesh Rao of Karavali Group of Colleges, owner of Spandana TV Vilas Nayak, Information officer B A Kahdar Shah, and district Karnataka Journalists Association president Sudesh Kumar will be present as the chief guests.

A debate with students of three city based colleges is also organized during the Journalists conference-2015 on July 4th. Former MP and Journalist Tejaswini Ramesh and senior Journalist Sashidhar Bhat will also participate in this debate.

During the program, Senior Journalist’s S Jayaram, Gangadhar Matti, Ahmed Anwar and veteran news paper distributors S Taranath Kamath and Ananth Roy Bhat will be honoured, informed Sudesh.

In the press conference, Vice President of Karnataka Journalist association Dr Shivasharan Shetty, Chief Secretary Sathish Kapikad, Treasurer Mohammed Hakeem, member Bava Padarangi and others were present.
