Mangaluru, July 1: The CCB police led by Valentine D’Souza arrested an accused on Tuesday June 30th who managed to escape during an arrest operation conducted on June 27th.
The police continued their search operation and successfully arrested the accused identified as Nishant Shetty (24), near Vamanjoor here on Tuesday, June 30th. Nishanth is a resident near Kelarai church, Kudupu.
The CCB police on June 27th, had arrested a murder-accused named as Dayanand alias Raja near Kulshekar-Kaikamba post office and recovered a pistol and five bullets from his possession. There were two others with Raja, but they had managed to escape. They were planning to carry out another crime, it is said.
Nishant Shetty is accused attempt-to-murder in Kavoor, Ullal and Mangaluru rural police stations and many cases of assault is also registered against him.
For further investigations, the accused has been handed over to Kadri police.
Police are on a look out for another absconding accused Chittaranjan Shetty of Bondala.
