DyFI state president Muneer Katipalla, addressing the protesters alleged that by keeping the people in dark, a big scam has taken place behind the handing over of hundreds of acres of land in the sea coast worth crores of rupees.

He said, there are suspicions about the involvement of the present as well as the past local ministers in the resort and Golf court projects. He said, in democracy the peoples representatives should work sincerely to protect the interests of publics. Many houses in Bengare have not yet received the land right certificate, electricity, and drinking water facilities. Taking the pretext of CRZ, the residents here are called as encroached residents, he said.

Expressing his fury he said, if it is observed that the private parties are given the permission to build compounds, and luxurious resorts here illegally, it is apparent that the people’s representatives are pro-corporate.

DyFI district president, MCC member Dayanand Shetty, district secretary, Santhosh Bajal, and district vice president B K Imthiyaz also spoke on this occasion.

DyFI leaders Sadik Kannur, Nagendra Urva store were present on this occasion.

The protest was led by Riyaz Bengare, Haneef, Rizwan, Jabbar, Jalaluddin, and Hasan Monu.

Bengare unit president A B Naushad compeered the programme.

Prior to the protest Bengare villagers including woman in large numbers moved on a procession throughout the village.
