Dharmasthala/Mangalore, June 21: Addressing the meeting held at Dharmasthala guest house,SP Abhishek Goyal, in the wake of series of thefts, robberies being taking place in the district at various places, temples and Basadis in particular, urged the administration of temples and Basadis to engage watchman and install CCTV cameras at their respective premises.
He further added that these measures (deploying watchman and installing CCTV) will help in more ways to keep a close vigil on higher frequency of thefts in religious centres mostly during monsoon season.
In the meet which was attended by representatives of religious centres from each taluk, issues of such as theft of valuables and idols of historical importance from Basadis and temples were discussed,
Advocate Shashikiran Jain, Jayakeerthi Jain, President, Taluk unit of State Government Workers’ Association, Nemiraja Ariga, State Convenor, Karnataka Jain Swayamseva Sangha, were persent in the meet.
Responding to the various points raised by different heads, SP Goyal gave suggestions to approach the police personnel in case of emergency.
