Mangalore, June 19: It has been reported on June 19, Wednesday at Ullal that a woman along with her two young daughters committed suicide by jumping into Netravati River.
The woman identified as Mumtaz aged 25 jumped into the river from the railway bridge with her two teenage daughters named Fathima, aged 8 and Khatija aged 5.
Sources said Fathima was studying in the third standard, Khatija was in UKG
A mobile phone and footwear belonging to three and a suicide note was found at the spot.In the letter Mumtaz mentioned that she herself was responsible for taking the extreme step.
The reason behind the suicide is not yet known.
Sources also said Mumtaz’s husband is basically from B.C.Road and stays abroad and Mumtaz is from Hidayatnagar in Kallapu, Belgaum and was staying at B C Road in her husband’s house.
Ullal police have arrived at the spot. Fishermen along with police and locals have launched a search operation to trace the body of Mumtaz and two children.
Sources said by late in the evening two of the bodies were found
