Kundapur, June 8: A man who had promised a woman of marriage and cheated her after developing her friendship has been arrested by the Amasebail Police.
The arrested is identified as Rakesh from Kundapur. He is employed as an Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) in LT Rating Department at Udupi MESCOM.
It is said, since past few years; accused Rakesh had developed friendship with a 29 year old woman hailing from Kumata. Later he lured her into his love trap and began moving with her. He visited the woman’s house too. In the month of January -2015, Rakesh had forcibly taken her to an estate in Shedimane by his car and had sexually assaulted her there, stated the woman in her complaint. She said, the man has cheated her.
On the basis of complaint filed by the victim woman at Amasebail police station here, police have arrested the accused Rakesh.
Meanwhile, relatives of the woman as well as the family members and friends of Rakesh tried to convince and get them married. But the attempt to convince was not fruitful.
