Mangaluru, June 5: A youth died after the bike he was riding fell into the river at Maravoor bridge under Bajpe police station jurisdiction here during late night on Thursday, June 4th.
The deceased has been identified as Lokesh (28), a resident of Nelliteertha, Bajpe.
The incident came to light on Friday June 5th after some people observed a body floating in the river and informed to the police.
It is suspected that Lokesh might have lost control over his bike near Maravoor bridge and fallen into the river late night on Thursday. Lokesh was riding towards Mangaluru when the accident took place. When he did not reach home at night, his family began searching for him.
Lokesh was a tailor working in a shop at Ambikanagar near Sunkadakatte, Bajpe.
He is the son of late Babu Gowda and Lalitha.
The body as well as the bike was retrieved from the river. a large crowd had gathered at the spot.
Bajpe cops along with traffic police arrived at the spot and investigated.
