Teenager meets tragic end in lorry-bike collision.

Bantwal, June 4: A teenager expired on the spot in an accident between a lorry and a bike at Maddabarkata near Vagga here on Wednesday June 4th.

The deceased has been identified as Dhanush (18), son of Nityananda Poojary and Sunita, residents of Pejattodi near Keddalike.

Dhanush was the only child of his parents. He was a student of Vivekananda Polytechnic College, Puttur.

It is said that Dhanush along with his parents and other family members had been to a relative’s house in Balepuni to attend a function. On the way back, Dhanush travelled separately on his bike. Danush’s mom travelled in a taxi.

Dhanush overtook the taxi in which his mother was travelling and went ahead.

Near Barkata, a sand-laden lorry collided to Dhanush’s bike.  Seriously injured Dhanush died on the spot due to profuse bleeding.

Meanwhile, Dhanush’s mother who was in the taxi noticed his bike while passing by that same spot. She stopped the taxi and got out to check, and found her son lying in a pool of blood.

The locals rushed to the spot and immediately informed the police and helped in shifting the body to Punjalkatte government hospital.

Bantwal traffic police inspector Chandrashekaraiah visited the spot and investigated.
