Doctor attacked and robbed by group of four men at Deralakatte

Mangaluru, June 3: It is alleged that a doctor has been attacked by a group of four men with a heavy stone, abused and robbed him of his valuables. This incident took place at Deralakatte here late night on Monday June 1st.

It is alleged that Dr Titu Zachariah, who works in a private hospital in Deralakatte, attacked by the group after dinner on the night of Monday, June 1st.

It is learnt that Dr Titu was having dinner at Sagar Bar and Restaurant in Kuthar here. Meanwhile, a group of four men approached him, introduced themselves and began a conversation. They said they too were going to Deralakatte and took the doctor in one of the two bikes by which they had arrived.

They took Dr Titu to an isolated spot behind one of the hospitals in Deralakatte and one of the four men snatched his mobile phone. The other three then grabbed a heavy stone and hit the doctor on the head and abused him, it is alleged. They also robbed his wallet which contained Rs 1,200 cash, driving licence, ATM card, Aadhaar card, and also his gold chain weighing 18 grams.

Dr Titu managed to escape from the hands of attackers and got himself admitted to a private hospital nearby.

Pertaining to this issue, a case was registered Ullal police station on Tuesday June 2nd. Dr Titu Zachariah has stated in the complaint that all the four attackers conversed in Malayalam.
